A whole lot of stuff has been going on of late. Unfortunately, not much of it falls into the category of "noteworthy".
Hence the dustbunnies and tumbleweeds.
I don't think I'll ever get around to finishing the "Nine Days" series. Truth be told, it basically amounts to going from the point of intrigue where I left you, my faithful readers, straight downhill into pathetic and stupid. As I said, nothing noteworthy, as those are the themes that seem to dominate my existence.
I haven't spent the last few weeks entirely wrapped in job-related crap though. It turns out that I might actually be putting a book together, but not so much in the vein of my prior aborted attempts. I'm compiling something of an odd compendium using public-domain material, and it's turning out to be a metric assload of work just to format what I've already pulled together.
Without getting into what the point of the book is, and despite the fact that I'm already sick of fighting with the layout of the 150 pages I already have, I'm making a plea for content.
The sections that I'm seriously short on are "Humor" (in more ways than one) and "Introspection" (which is a section that may well be renamed to something less hokey).
As far as the format of those sections goes, I need both short (300-2000 words) entries and one or two liners. Think "Reader's Digest".
I'm not necessarily asking for writers, though submissions will certainly be reviewed, but rather for bits of literature, jokes, funny or thoughtful quotes, whatever. Anything that's relatively short and either verifiably in the public domain or otherwise free (e.g. licensed to the project by the author for free).
If you want to submit something, but don't already have an e-mail address for me, you can use this form.
Unlike most of my "projects", I actually have a somewhat compelling reason for getting this done, as well as a rough deadline, so any help you give will be appreciated.
