KitschYou may have noticed that I've added a couple of links on the right for some kitsch I'm shilling.

I've actually got three shops set up:
Camp Gimmiyabeeya @ CafePress
Camp Gimmiyabeeya @ Zazzle
Instructive Clothing @ CafePress

I'm in the process of consolidating the various product offerings into a single store, but I'm not sure it's... well, legal. I think I have to read through some agreements I checked the box next to.

Anyway, the point? I opened the first of the three about a year ago and I've had two sales, both to friends of mine. Since most people wouldn't have any clue what the hell Camp Gimmiyabeeya is, that's not altogether surprising. I'm kind of curious though what response people will have to the Instructive Clothing stuff. Personally, I think it's funny as hell, but that might just be me.

Why am I telling you this? Mostly because it's what I spent the day doing, but adding a couple of google-ready links to the BEST STORES EVER didn't hurt either.

I've been stupid busy this week (sometimes it's fun to intentionally butcher the language), so there's not much to say. Lacking content of my own, here are some suggestions:

KitschAs my dad used to say, "How can you not like a sport where they chase each other around with clubs in their hands and knives strapped to their feet?" Tonya Harding's training is complete. We know she can skate, and we found out in the last year or so that she can box. Now she's qualified to play professional hockey. Past mistakes notwithstanding, you go girl. (story)

Speaking of violent sports, let's talk politics for a minute. There's been a lot of speculation lately about who's going to be John Kerry's running mate this fall. The obvious candidates (so to speak) would be John Edwards or Dick Gephardt. Some of the more creative minds have even suggested Tom Brokaw (who's retiring from broadcasting this year). For those who are truly thinking outside the box though, the obvious(?) choice would be John McCain. (story)

Since I lack a clever segue, I'll just clear my throat and shuffle the papers on my desk.

Ahem. *tap* *tap*

It seems that the folks over at Viacom may have taken things too far while renegotiating rates with the satellite provider DISH Network. In fact, DISH Network has pulled the plug on all of the channels owned by Viacom. It's worth noting that in a similar dispute last year, Cox Communications eventually came to an agreement with ESPN that presumably worked in ESPN's favor. Regardless of which side you agree with it's safe to say that somewhere in the hinterlands of the country, there's a forlorn teenage girl saying, without a trace of irony, "I want my MTV." (story)

KitschJust a reminder that voting has opened over at Blog Madness.

My matchup is in the "Work" region, but definitely poke around to the others as well. There's some good stuff to be read.

KitschBlog Madness has released the bracket for the first round, and my first opponent is Matt Powell from Wheat and Chaff.

From what I've read of his blog, he's a fairly well spoken guy that doesn't seem prone to ranting and raving (unlike me, on occasion). He basically seems like a pretty stand up guy that I hold no ill will toward.

On the other hand, excepting the absolute loonies at the extreme end of either side of the political spectrum, our views seem to be diametrically opposed.

KitschI got tired of the "Clean" theme, so I changed it in my preferences.

It got me thinking though, and I'm curious as to whether people think that one of the other ones should be the default theme, since most people will never see anything else.

So, here are screenshots of each theme, and you tell me in the comments which one you like best. The most popular one becomes the default.

KitschI just registered one of my Nation's Heartland entries (the one about Cedar Point) at Blog Madness. I guess I'm kind of curious about how my writing will be received by people that don't know me.

Also, fair warning that posts will be sporadic for a while (if you hadn't already noticed). I'm, yet again, working on a project with completely unrealistic deadlines. Hopefully I'll be able to, yet again, pull something out of my ass at the last minute, but in the meantime I'll be stuck with my nose in a copy of Visual Studio.

Happy new year!

Kitsch... let's talk about the weather. Specifically, let's talk about the fact that New Year's Eve in Boston is supposed to have a low temperature above freezing, while Hawaii and Las Vegas have snow.

I'm lost. Exactly which sign of the apocalypse were we on again?

KitschI'm finding the total at the bottom to be one of the more amazing things I've seen lately.

Something (not so) Awful
